The nomination process commenced recently in Telangana. Until a few months ago, it was widely believed that the BJP would give tough fight to the ruling party, BRS, in Telangana.
However, the Congress party has recently gained unprecedented momentum. The votes of the settlers' community will also carry significant weight in this election. During the last elections, the settlers had strongly supported BRS, contributing to its significant success.
However, the situation appears to be different this time around.
Previously, there was a talk that KCR, who was re-elected as the Chief Minister for second time, had extended his support to YS Jagan during the Andhra elections. During that time, the TDP was contesting in Telangana, leading to criticism from Chandrababu. In the current scenario, the TDP has tactfully refrained from participating in the elections.
TDP supporters are strongly asserting that their party will witness a surge in Andhra Pradesh following KCR's potential defeat in Telangana. According to TDP leaders, if the Congress emerges victorious in Telangana,
TPCC president Revanth Reddy is expected to assume the role of Chief Minister, who is beleived to be their own person. They believe that a Congress victory in Telangana will inevitably impact the upcoming AP elections, creating a favorable environment for the TDP.
Hence, the TDP leadership has resolved to welcome members from the YCP to their party post the Telangana elections. Therefore, the key TDP figures are currently adopting a wait-and-watch approach until the results of the Telangana elections are announced.
