Congress On Self-Destruction Mode

Congress On Self-Destruction Mode

The results from the five northern states show that the Congress is in self-destruction mode now. It started in 2014 and in eight years, the party had seen repeated defeats.

The party’s defeat in Punjab and Manipur is disastrous as it could not win. Losing Punjab now and Goa in the last elections shows the bankruptcy of the leadership in the Congress.

The 130-year-old national party which led the freedom struggle could not plan to match the 10-year-old Aam Aadmi Party.

The Congress could not prevent the growth of the saffron party, despite its fears of communalisation of the country.

The Congress leaders on a regular basis spread fears among the people about the growing popularity of the BJP and its saffron groups. But, what the same Congress leaders are doing to prevent the spread or growth of these communal groups is a big zero.

The Congress leaders lost the power to the BJP in Goa in the last election and that had exposed their inapt handling of present day politics.

The Congress leaders have lost Punjab to the decade-old party, Aam Aadmi Party, just because they could not understand the farmers’ movement in Delhi as much the AAP leadership understood.

The Congress should learn the lessons from its defeats and stand up to stop the victory-march of the saffron brigade now, or else it should stop talking about communal politics and the secular fabric.

Are the Congress leaders ready to learn lessons and start winning!
