Congress Leaders Distance Themselves from Sharmila

The Andhra Pradesh Congress has refrained from backing Y.S. Sharmila in her asset dispute with her brother, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Currently serving as the AP Congress President, Sharmila finds herself entangled in a high-profile family feud with Jagan, garnering support from TDP leaders, who have openly criticized Jagan's treatment of both Sharmila and their mother, Vijayamma.

Even Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu weighed in, alleging that Jagan has been unjust to his own family.

However, AP Congress leaders have chosen to remain silent on the matter.

Recently, several of Sharmila’s own appointed representatives have refrained from standing by her publicly.

Some Congress leaders, speaking off the record, expressed frustration with Sharmila, perceiving her actions as potentially damaging to the party’s image.

With Congress leaning towards closer ties with Jagan, AP Congress leaders reportedly feel that Sharmila’s actions may harm the party.

Some leaders have voiced disappointment, believing that Sharmila’s actions are placing personal interests above party unity, which they argue could lead to long-term damage.

The national Congress leadership has been apprised of these concerns, and it’s reported that they are monitoring the developments carefully, aware of the potential implications for the party’s standing in Andhra Pradesh.
