Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu reacted strongly to the comments made by Justice Chandru, retired judge of Tamil Nadu high court, for making controversial comments against state judiciary and defending YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to reporters at the party office in Mangalagiri, Naidu alleged that Justice Chandru seemed to be part of the Paytm batch of Jagan Mohan Reddy, used for attacking anybody who questioned the wrong policies of the government.
“One retired judge from a different state comes here and says the courts are violating the Constitution in Andhra Pradesh. Is he not aware of the horrible situation prevailing in the state? Such people belong to the Paytm batch, whose objective is only to run down the opposition,” he alleged.
Naidu wondered whether that retired judge was blind to the attacks on Dalits, opposition leaders and women taking place in the present regime.
“Can a person who held such a respectable position support a criminal?” he asked.
The TDP chief alleged that people like Chandru required posts and positions after retirement.
“That is why, they are making all sort of such comments. In the past, too, one former Supreme Court judge has extended support to Jagan. His son has now been given a good position and he is praising Jagan,” he alleged.
