Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced the second list of 59 nominated posts allotted to leaders of his party and also his alliance partners – Jana Sena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Out of these 59 posts, Jana Sena has been allotted nine posts and the BJP just one, while the remaining 49 posts have been allotted to the TDP leaders. Apparently, Naidu has followed the pro-rata basis for the allotment of nominated posts.
Interesting appointments among those for the nominated posts are: popular spiritual preacher Chaganti Koteshwara Rao as advisor to the government on student ethics and values and former state legislative council chairman Mohd Ahmed Sharif as advisor on minority affairs – both the posts with cabinet rank.
Firebrand TDP spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram from Vijayawada (West), who had been sulking for not being given any post in the first list, has been appointed as the chairman of Swachch Andhra Pradesh Mission.
Similarly, former MLA from Tadikonda Undavalli Sridevi, who defected from YSRCP to the TDP last year, has been made chairperson of AP Madiga Welfare Cooperative Finance Corporation.
Former MLAs Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao will head AP Forest Development Corporation and Gandi Babji AP Cooperative Oil Seeds Growers Federation Ltd.
TDP spokespersons Neelayapalem Vijaya Kumar has got AP State Bio-Diversity Board and G V Reddy AP State Fibernet Ltd.
From Jana Sena, former minister Kothapalli Subbarayudu has been made chairman of AP State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation. Other Jana Sena nominees are: Palavalasa Yasaswi, Chilakalapudi Papa Rao, Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, T C Varun, Tummala Ramaswamy, Korikana Ravi Kumar, V Suryanarayana Raju and Dr Pedapudi Vijay Kumar.
From BJP, senior advocate Savithri has been made the chairperson of AP Razaka Welfare and Development Corporation.
However, Jana Sena leader Reddy Appala Naidu and BJP leader Suresh Reddy were nominated as zonal chairpersons of APSRTC Vijayawada zone and Nellore zone respectively.
