Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu passed a resolution stating that there would be a High Court bench in Kurnool.
This move is seen as an act of generosity toward the region, which was expected to be one of the capitals during Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure.
However, even pro-TDP social media circles are skeptical about whether this promise will ever be fulfilled.
One netizen commented, "That 'justice' will not happen. As Babu mentioned during the judicial review meeting, there can be an international law school in Amaravati, but establishing a High Court bench in Kurnool is not feasible. The flexibility provided by Section 51(2) of the Partition Act, 1956, is not present in the 2014 Partition Act. It’s just about passing a resolution to the Center and leaving it! That's Babu's plan."
Another netizen pointed out that if Chandrababu Naidu genuinely cared about justice for the Kurnool region, he would have established the 100-acre law college in Kurnool instead of Amaravati.
Many believe that Chandrababu's primary focus remains on Amaravati, not on other parts of the state.
