Chandrababu Naidu has created space for himself in TDP and made the world believe that the party needs him badly. He has done it several decades ago.
He was in Congress party when TDP was floated. He had thought that NTR would not win anyway so he contested on behalf of Congress.
But he immediately joined TDP as his son-in-law after the party tasted success. He understood the entire functioning of the party and he created a special need for himself in the party. He became a key person later.
He continued to sideline the leaders who were traveling with NTR right from the beginning of TDP. Finally, he dethroned NTR by backstabbing him. He made sure that NTR's name would not be heard in the party later.
Everybody knows that Chandrababu Naidu remembers NTR when the party sits in the opposition. Chandrababu Naidu's image has been seriously dented in his last five years rule as the people severely opposed him and outrightly rejected him in the elections.
Chandrababu Naidu hit the new lows with his opportunistic politics. Even the kids are laughing at him when he is showering praises on PM Modi. This is the situation of Chandrababu now. His leadership turned out to be negative for the TDP at present.
Confining to 23 seats after the rule of five long years, unable to make his son an MLA, losing his own majority in the constituency.. there is no bigger failure than this for a party chief.
It is pretty clear that Chandrababu Naidu has become a minus point for TDP with all these developments.
