With the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy restoring the general consent to the Central Bureau of Investigation to conduct its investigations in the state, troubles seems to have begun for former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.
The Jagan government issued fresh orders on Thursday cancelling the controversial government order (GO) issued by the previous Naidu government withdrawing consent to the CBI to probe various cases in Andhra Pradesh.
Following the latest order, the CBI will get permission to investigate into any case that is assigned to it.
According to sources, the Jagan government is preparing a dossier of various cases against Naidu and entrust the same to the CBI.
“The intelligence department is gathering prima facie evidences on various allegations against Naidu with regard to Amaravati projects, AgriGold scam and irregularities in various tenders. They will be handed over to the CBI,” a YSRC source said.
It is a different matter whether the charges are proved immediately or later, but Jagan will get first ensure that Naidu is thrown behind the bars at least for a few months, sources said.
