In a surprise development, the CBI had refused to submit written arguments before its court on Jagan bail cancellation petition.
The petition was filed by Narasapuram MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who pleaded for cancellation of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail in the CBI and ED cases.
The court, which admitted the petition asked the CBI and Jagan Mohan Reddy to file written arguments before the court.
Raghurama Krishnam Raju alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh was influencing the witnesses using his position.
He also found fault with the CBI for not probing the cases in a proper way, only to favour Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The court also asked Jagan Mohan Reddy and Raghurama Krishnam Raju to submit written arguments, which they did on Thursday.
However, when the case came up for hearing, the CBI told the court that it was not ready to file any written arguments.
As the CBI declined to file written arguments, the court posted the hearing for July 14.
It is to be seen what the court would say when the issue comes up once again on July 14, as the CBI is not ready to file its version.
