The CBI court in Hyderabad has summoned Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy to appear before the court on August 14 in relation to the murder of former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
The court has issued summons to the MP, requiring his presence on the specified day.
Additionally, the court has instructed the CBI to ensure that the MP, who is currently on anticipatory bail, is present before the court on the scheduled date.
Avinash Reddy has been named as accused 8 in the murder case of Vivekananda Reddy, while his father Bhaskara Reddy has been named as accused 7.
Bhaskara Reddy was arrested on April 16 and has been remanded to judicial custody. He is currently incarcerated in Chanchalguda Central Prison.
The CBI had intended to arrest Avinash Reddy but was unable to do so due to the anticipatory bail granted to him by the Telangana High Court.
However, the CBI has questioned the MP on multiple occasions prior to submitting the final charge sheet to the court on June 30.
At one point, there was a dramatic situation as the CBI attempted to arrest Avinash Reddy, leading the MP to seek refuge in a hospital in Kurnool after his mother fell ill.
