Senior YSR Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao on Monday threw an interesting challenge to power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan.
He asked whether the power star can compete with him in fitness and commitment.
“Public life is not like filmy life, where everything is manipulated. I am now 64 years old. Let Pawan Kalyan walk along with me for just three kilometres. Can he do that?” he asked.
Stating that it is not so easy to spend a long career in political life, Dharmana said there are several ups and downs in political life.
“Real life is different from reel life. Pawan Kalyan says he will have a long innings in politics. Is it possible without public support?” he said.
The minister said irrespective of whether he was in power or not, he had been in public life for the last 45 years.
“Does Pawan have so much patience? You have to keep up every word that you give to the people,” he said.
Dharmana reminded that YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had been fulfilling every promise that he had given to the people.
“One should have that commitment,” he said, while taking part in the Gadapa Gadapaku Prabhutvam programme at Lingalavalasa village of Garla mandal in Srikakulam district.
The minister was visibly upset with the poster put up by the local youth with the huge pictures of Pawan Kalyan in the village.
“The people should acknowledge the government which is working for their welfare and extending them various benefits, but not film stars who do nothing except pose for the photographs for publicity,” he said.
