Buzz: End of the Road for Atchannaidu?

There is growing discussion around whether senior TDP leader and minister from Srikakulam district, Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, has finally realized that a forced political retirement is inevitable after this term.

In the 2024 elections, the TDP leadership sidelined many seniors, promoting younger leaders by giving them tickets and even ministerial positions.

With this shift, it is widely speculated that by the 2029 elections, most candidates will be from Lokesh's team.

Against this backdrop, it is being said that Atchannaidu, a senior minister, has started coming to terms with the idea of stepping away from active politics.

Speaking at a recent public event in the district, he said, "I have been elected MLA six times and served twice as a minister — what more could I want?"

Through these words, it seems he indirectly hinted at being satisfied with his three-decade-long political career.

Observers say his remarks reflect a readiness to move on, signaling that he has accepted his political journey is nearing its end.

Meanwhile, there are reports suggesting that although Atchannaidu might step away from contesting elections himself, he is planning to introduce his son as his political heir, aiming to secure a ticket for him from Tekkali in the 2029 elections.
