Bro Anil admits pressure for launching new party

Popular evangelist and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s brother-in-law Brother Anil Kumar, who has been evading answers on the talk of launching a new political party in the state, has finally admitted that there is indeed such a proposal.

“There has been a demand from all sections of people that I should launch a new political party in Andhra Pradesh. But launching a new party is not a small issue. It is not so easy to launch a party and sustain it,” Anil Kumar told media, after holding a meeting with representatives of various Christian and OBC groups in the state at a hotel in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

He, however, said he would certainly take a serious decision if the Jagan government did not do justice to the Christians, OBCs, SCs and STs.

“I will take up their concerns with the state government. It is my responsibility. If the government doesn’t bother to address their grievances, I will take a serious decision and that would not be a normal one,” he said.

Anil Kumar, husband of Jagan’s sister Y S Sharmila, alleged that Jagan was not bothering about the welfare of Christians and BCs.

“Before 2019 elections, I held a meeting with these groups and requested their support to the YSR Congress party. Now, they are being neglected,” he said.

Stating that it was his responsibility to stand by them and take up their cause, the evangelist said he would make his best efforts to get their problems resolved.

“I don’t have to meet Jagan directly. In fact, it has been more than two and a half years since I met him,” he said.

He alleged that only lobbyists and outsiders who made entry into the party at the last minute were dominating the YSRC party doing injustice to those who had really strived for the party.

“I will fight for the justice for them,” he said.
