Bonda, Buddha have no faith in police!

When YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy refuse to cooperate with the police and depose before them with regard to a knife attack on him at Visakhapatnam airport in September 2018 stating that he had no faith in the integrity of the Andhra Pradesh police, the Telugu Desam Party leaders raised a hue and cry.

The then TDP government led by N Chandrababu Naidu took strong exception to Jagan’s statement, saying the YSRC chief was insulting the police who toiled day and night to maintain law and order.

But now, the scene has reversed. Naidu himself has been accusing the state police of enforcing a draconian rule in the state and Director General of Police Gautam Sawang of being a puppet in the hands of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Naidu wondered how a murder case accused could be given station bail so that he could file nomination as municipal chairman.

On Tuesday, TDP leaders Buddha Venkanna and Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao turned down the notices issued by Guntur police to depose before them with regard to the alleged attack on them at Macherla.

The TDP leaders made it clear that they had no faith in Guntur police who had remained silent spectators when the YSRC leaders were assaulting them. This was despite the fact that they were given protection by local deputy superintendent of police who whisked them to safety.

Guntur range Inspector general of police J Prabhakar Rao said if the TDP leaders had any objections to come before the Guntur police, the investigation officer himself would go to them personally to take their version.

“We have nothing to do with the police parties. We shall protect the law and order in the state under any circumstances,” Prabhakar Rao said.
