BJP silent on Pawan, but TDP comes to his support

The ongoing tussle between Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan and YSR Congress party leaders is getting hotter and hotter with every passing day, providing much needed masala to the media.

But the Bharatiya Janata Party, the political ally of Pawan Kalyan, has surprisingly remained silent, when the YSRC leaders are making aggressive attacks on him and running him down with sharp comments.

Despite being a Kapu leader, BJP state president Somu Veerraju has not uttered a single comment in support of Pawan.

Similarly, there was no response from other leaders like Kanna Lakshminarayana, Daggubati Purandeshwari or even Andhra Pradesh in-charge Sunil Deodhar at least on the social media.

Interestingly, the Telugu Desam Party leaders have started issuing statements defending Pawan Kalyan and attacking the YSRC leaders for targeting him.

On Thursday, Telugu Mahila president Vangalapudi Anitha said it was deplorable on the part of the YSRC leaders to pass indecent comments on the women members of opponents' families.

She said highly objectionable language was being used in the name of mother, sister and daughter.

“State minister Perni Nani had no decency in making comments on Pawan Kalyan now and he would not hesitate to pass similar statements on others next,” Anitha alleged.

She also found fault with actor and YSRC activist Posani Krishna Murali for crossing all limits of decency and used an unbearable indecent language. The Chief Minister owed an explanation on this. It seemed Jaganmohan Reddy was enjoying it like music when his party leaders were hurling all sorts of abuses on women and rivals, she said.

The TDP leader demanded that cases should be filed against Minister Perni Nani and Posani Krishna Murali under the Nirbhaya Act for causing disrespect to women.

A gesture or an act intended to insult the modesty of a woman would attract imprisonment and fine under the law, she said.

Former minister and TDP leader Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy also came in support of the Jana Sena chief. He said if necessary, the TDP would not mind allying with Jana Sena in the next elections.
