It seems newly-appointed Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y S Sharmila has got a good script writer. She is coming out with some sharp statements that are taking her political rivals by surprise.
On Friday, Sharmila made a scathing attack on Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, his alliance partner and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and her brother and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for toeing the line of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing the party workers in Guntur, Sharmila said the BJP was a acronym for Babu, Jagan and Pawan.
“All these three leaders are slaves of BJP, which had betrayed the state by denying it special category status. Despite this betrayal, they have joined hands with the BJP,” she said.
Turning her ire at her brother Jagan, the PCC chief said there was no YSR rule in Andhra Pradesh at all.
“YSR rule means creation of jobs and reimbursement of fee of poor students. But there is no such rule in Jagan’s regime. He has cheated the people by going back on his promises,” she said.
Sharmila pointed out that Jagan had talked about release of job calendar on January 1 every year.
“In the last five years, no such calendar was followed. Not a single notification was issued; no recruitments were made under Group-1 or Group-2,” she said.
Stating that development has taken a backseat during the Jagan regime, the Congress leader said, “Guntur has become Guntaluru (city of potholes). There are no funds even for road repairs. There is no money for payment of salaries to the employees. No compensation for crop loss. All subsidy schemes for agriculture sector have been wound up," she criticised.
“YSR’s son is ruling the state, but he is no match for YSR regime. While YSR lived for the people till his last breath, his son is ruling the state like a dictator. Even the ruling party MLAs have no respect. YSR used to run Praja Darbar, but Jagan anna doesn’t even look at the poor people,” she said.
