There have been reports of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders engaging in various irregular activities, including involvement in the sand and mining mafia, as well as land settlements, over the past few months in different parts of Andhra Pradesh.
However, it appears that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are not far behind their alliance partners when it comes to corrupt activities and other irregularities.
In a recent incident that gained media attention, a BJP leader attempted to encroach upon valuable land in Penukonda mandal, Sri Satya Sai district.
The BJP leader in question, Adinarayana Yadav, is believed to be a close associate of State Health Minister Y. Satyakumar Yadav. He allegedly resorted to violent tactics in an attempt to seize prime land near the Kia factory in Penukonda mandal.
On Sunday, his followers vandalized a boundary wall and created chaos in the area. They also attacked the landowner when he resisted their actions.
According to the victim and police reports, Prabhakar from Guntakal purchased 1.72 acres of land in Survey No. 433 of Munimadugu village from Harjit Singh of Chandigarh in 2018.
Adjacent to this land are properties belonging to Global Horticulture Private Limited, where Adinarayana Yadav, who also serves as the Mudigubba Mandal President, is a director.
Adinarayana was initially elected as a Mandal Parishad President (MPP) from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) but later joined the BJP during the elections and has since become a close associate of Satyakumar Yadav.
On Sunday evening, Adinarayana, along with his associates, arrived at Prabhakar’s land in a car and caused a disturbance. They forcibly restrained Prabhakar and made him speak to Adinarayana over the phone.
Adinarayana allegedly threatened him, saying, "Didn’t I tell you not to work on that land? If you don’t listen, I will kill you." He then instructed his followers to eliminate him.
Following his orders, Adinarayana’s men attacked Prabhakar with iron rods and sticks. However, local farmers working in nearby fields noticed the commotion and started shouting for help, forcing the attackers to flee the scene.
The victim has since lodged a complaint with the Kia Police. Sub-Inspector Rajesh confirmed that a case has been registered, and the police have seized an excavator and a car in connection with the incident.
