It looks like Bharatiya Janata Party, which had maintained friendly relationship with the YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh before and after the general elections, has started targeting the YSRC, more than the Telugu Desam Party.
Initially, the BJP openly declared that its first enemy is the TDP and that it would give six months’ time to the YSRC to assess its performance.
The BJP leaders made tall claims that the TDP would soon become empty and at least 18 MLAs from the TDP were ready to jump into the BJP any moment.
But now, with there are no more any indications of any defections from the TDP in the recent past, the BJP leaders have now started playing mind game with the YSRC and started making critical comments against Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
On Saturday, former Union minister Daggubati Purandeshwari lashed out at Jagan Reddy government for entering into an agreement with Telangana Rashtra Samithi government on river water sharing.
“How can Jagan join hands with KCR, who is against the interests of Andhra Pradesh? How can Jagan and KCR decide the water sharing without taking into confidence the opposition parties and the common people?” she asked.
She also attacked the Jagan government for giving protection to churches, while harassing the BJP leaders in Visakhapatnam.
“How can he do that based on one anonymous letter?” she asked.
BJP MLC Madhav also sought to play mind game with the YSRC saying that even some YSRC leaders like Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao were also in touch with BJP.
“Not only from TDP and Congress, leaders from YSRC also are eager to join the BJP. But for the disqualification threat, many MLAs would have joined us,” he said.
