BJP bosses upset with resignations in Telangana

The resignation of several important leaders from Bharatiya Janata Party in the recent past is learnt to have angered the party high command, which has reportedly pulled up the party leaders for their indifferent attitude.

Two former ministers – Mothkupalli Narasimhulu, a prominent Dalit leader from Nalgonda district and E Peddi Reddy from Huzurabad in Karimnagar district – have quit the BJP along with their followers and joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Several other leaders are also planning to quit the BJP to join the Congress following the call given by new PCC president A Revanth Reddy.

While the BJP leaders were jubilant over the entry of former minister Eatala Rajender, the exit of key leaders caused much more harm to the party.

On Saturday, BJP national general secretary Santosh ji conveyed the displeasure of the national leadership to the state BJP leaders at a meeting of the BJP National Mahila Morcha at the state BJP office.

He said the party’s central leadership is upset with the way the state leaders were not evincing interest in fighting on the people’s issues.

“The kind of interest they are showing on Huzurabad is not seen on other parts of the state. Why are the leaders not touring other constituencies?” he asked.

Santosh wondered what various party wings were doing in the state.

“What role Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha, Minority Morcha and Girijan Morcha are playing in the state? Why are youth not being involved in the party activities?” he asked.

The BJP leadership reportedly suggested the party leaders to go to villages and take the grassroots level party workers into confidence in fighting against the TRS government, instead of sitting in Hyderabad.

“It appears most of the BJP leaders do not even have an idea about where the government offices are,” he criticised.
