It appears senior YSR Congress party leader and former minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy has decided to call it quits to the party and look for greener pastures in politics.
On Tuesday, Balineni made strong comments against the party high command, without naming party president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, saying he was not feeling comfortable in the party.
“I have been keeping away from the party activities since the election results, because the party leadership has stopped bothering about me and has been keeping me at bay,” he alleged.
Asked whether he was resigning from the YSRCP, Balineni said the party itself had been ignoring his presence.
“I have been fighting against the alleged manipulations in the electronic voting machines in the recent elections, but there has been no support from the party for my fight,” he said.
The former minister said he had been making attempts to explain his position to the party leadership, but there was nobody in the party to listen to his version.
“I have strived hard for the party in the last elections, but unfortunately no top leader is acknowledging my hard work. That is why, I have been keeping away from the party,” he said.
Reacting to the allegations that he was trying to join the Jana Sena Party, Balineni said several vested interests were spreading all sorts of rumours against him.
“Maybe, they are trying to pre-empt my plans to join Jana Sena,” he said.
The former minister said he still had the support of the people and so, there was no question of being afraid of anyone.
“I am least bothered whether the party acknowledges my contribution or not. I shall fight for the people,” he asserted.
