At last, Naidu to have permanent house in AP!

After a decade since the bifurcation of the combined state of Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to build his own independent residence in Amaravati, the state’s capital city.

While Naidu has an ancestral home in Naravaripalli, Chandragiri mandal, Tirupati district, and an under-construction house in Kuppam, his native constituency in Chittoor district, his only permanent residence has been in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

For the past 10 years—both during his tenure as Chief Minister and while out of power—Naidu has been residing in a guesthouse owned by Lingamaneni Ramesh, located along the Karakatta Road on the Krishna River in Undavalli.

This arrangement often invited criticism from the opposition YSR Congress Party, which accused him of being a "non-resident Andhra" lacking emotional attachment to the state he governed.

Naidu had previously stated that he would build his own home in Amaravati once the capital's development was completed.

However, with Amaravati’s progress stalling under his successor Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the plan remained on hold.

Now that his government has resumed the Amaravati capital city project, Naidu has decided to move forward with his personal residence.

Recently, Naidu acquired a five-acre plot in the Velagapudi revenue area of Amaravati.

The 25,000-square-yard plot, registered in the names of three compensated farmers from the same family, is located adjacent to the E-6 road and near the current Secretariat complex.

The plot is strategically situated, surrounded by roads on all four sides, with the critical Seed Access Road running nearby.

It is within a 2 km radius of key landmarks, including residential complexes for gazetted officers and NGOs, judges' bungalows, the temporary High Court, VIT, and the Amaravati Government Complex.

Naidu plans to utilize a portion of the five-acre plot for constructing his residence, while the remaining area will be allocated for a garden, security personnel quarters, and parking facilities.

Soil tests are currently underway at various locations on the plot, signaling the commencement of construction activities.
