Arrest threat to Ayyanna son Chintakayala Vijay

Arrest threat looms on Telugu Desam Party leader Chintakayala Vijay, son of former minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu from Narsipatnam in Visakhapatnam district, in connection with the morphing of the nude video, allegedly involving YSR Congress party MP from Hindupur Gorantla Madhav.

The police of the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) swooped on the residence of Vijay at Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, in Hyderabad and conducted searches for him. The TDP leader was not there at home.

The TDP leaders alleged that the CID police beat up the driver of Vijay, harassed Vijay’s children and checked all the rooms. The police brought pressure on the children to disclose the whereabouts of their father.

Later, they served notices on the inmates under 41-A of the Criminal Procedure Code, stating that Vijay should appear before the CID office at Mangalagiri on October 6 at 10.30 am.

The police had booked cases against Vijay under various sections – including 419, 469, 15 (a), 505 (2) and 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code. The cases were booked in the Cybercrime police of the CID.

Vijay was asked to produce all his phone numbers, mobile phones, ID proof and address proof before the CID police, failing which he would be arrested forthwith, the CID police said.

The cases were booked following a complaint lodged by Gorantla Madhav alleging that the video was morphed and posted on the social media, allegedly by Vijay to malign his image.

However, Vijay obtained a stay from the high court into the CID investigation and also filed a quash petition. His lawyers argued in the court that Vijay was not the admin of the group and it was uploaded from someone in the iTDP group.

They argued that Vijay had nothing to do with the video or the iTDP group.

“The group can be created by anybody and everybody can become a member of the group,” the lawyers argued, adding that if the video was not genuine, the police could take action against those who uploaded the video and not its members.
