AP: Survey on Alliance MLAs Sparks Sensation!

In Andhra Pradesh, a prominent survey agency, in collaboration with IIT experts, conducted a statewide survey on the performance of MLAs from the ruling alliance.

The results have created a stir in political circles.

The survey revealed shocking details: out of the alliance’s legislators, as many as 71 MLAs are reportedly facing over 70% public disapproval — despite the government completing just ten months in office. This report is said to have deeply alarmed the ruling alliance.

According to the survey, many legislators have allegedly transformed into agents of liquor, land, and real estate mafias.

The findings indicate that several MLAs and ministers are directly involved in these rackets, collecting massive bribes from organizations and individuals in their constituencies. They are also reportedly extracting money from mining mafia and contractors under duress.

Moreover, small business owners and even government employees are said to be coerced for money. Some public representatives are not accessible to their cadre and have ignored local public issues.

The alliance, which won 164 Assembly seats and secured a massive mandate in the 2024 elections, is now witnessing a reversal in public perception within just ten months.

Out of the 71 MLAs with only 30% public approval, their names have been detailed constituency-wise across the districts:

Srikakulam district: Srikakulam, Etcherla, Palakonda (ST), Palasa, Pathapatnam

Vizianagaram district: Gajapathinagaram, Nellimarla, Salur (ST), Parvathipuram (SC), Kurupam (ST)

Visakhapatnam district: Yelamanchili, Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam (South), Narsipatnam, Anakapalli

East Godavari: Tuni, Rajanagaram, P.Gannavaram (SC), Kakinada Rural, Rampachodavaram (ST), Rajolu (SC), Kothapeta, Ramachandrapuram

West Godavari: Tadepalligudem, Narsapuram, Unguturu, Nidadavolu, Polavaram (ST), Chintalapudi (SC)

Krishna district: Vijayawada West, Tiruvuru (SC), Kaikalur, Nuzvid, Nandigama (SC)

Guntur district: Pedakurapadu, Narasaraopet, Guntur West, Tenali, Bapatla, Gurajala

Prakasam district: Kandukur, Markapuram, Chirala, Giddalur

Nellore district: Kavali, Sarvepalli, Sullurupeta (SC), Udayagiri

YSR Kadapa district: Kadapa, Rayachoti, Kodur (SC)

Kurnool district: Pattikonda, Allagadda, Panyam, Adoni, Kurnool, Dhone, Nandikotkur (SC)

Anantapur district: Madakasira (SC), Penukonda, Kadiri, Guntakal, Anantapur Urban, Singanamala (SC), Kalyandurg

Chittoor district: Srikalahasti, Tirupati, Chandragiri, Nagari, Gangadhara Nellore (SC), Satyavedu (SC)

In all these constituencies, the alliance MLAs have secured only 30% public support.

However, the survey organizers clarify that this doesn’t imply the remaining MLAs enjoy strong public approval. Many other legislators reportedly have approval ratings between 30% and 40%, while their disapproval hovers around 60% to 70%.

Whatever the case, this survey should be a serious wake-up call for the ruling alliance. Ignoring or dismissing it could lead them down a path to a disastrous defeat in the future.
