The electricity bills in Andhra Pradesh are giving electric shocks to the people. The public has been lamenting that the bills are soaring high, almost doubling in many instances since last month.
The reasons cited include extra charges like true-up charges, adjustment charges, fixed charges, and consumer charges—new names being used to burden the people.
While the government claims there will be no increase in power charges, customers are questioning why these unscrupulous bills are being issued.
A similar situation occurred during the YCP regime, when it was stated that the government was collecting electricity bills incurred by the TDP between 2014-2019. At that time, TDP raised a lot of noise, provoking people to question and protest.
However, now the alliance government, with TDP playing a lead role, is burdening the people with these unscrupulous electricity bills.
