The Andhra Pradesh government announced on Monday that it would no longer include pictures of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu or his cabinet colleagues on public documents such as pattadar passbooks, foundation stones, milestones, and school and college textbooks and notebooks.
During a review of the revenue department's operations, Naidu instructed that only the official emblem of the state government should appear on these documents, not any photographs of himself or other ministers.
He criticized the previous government for spending Rs 15 crore on printing photographs of Jagan Mohan Reddy on pattadar passbooks and an additional Rs 700 crore for embossing his image on stones marking agricultural land borders.
Naidu mentioned that they are exploring ways to reuse these stones without Jagan's picture.
Separately, Naidu’s son, State Education Minister Nara Lokesh, emphasized that there should be no political influence in the education sector.
He released the academic calendar for school education without including photos of the Chief Minister or the Minister concerned.
Lokesh stated that political interference in government educational institutions would not be tolerated.
He also specified that even the training materials provided to teachers and students should not feature messages, photos, or colors associated with any political parties.
