AP: Ex Deputy Chief Minister In Hiberation Mode

Budi Mutyala Naidu, who won the Madugula Assembly constituency in Visakhapatnam district twice in a row, unexpectedly received the post of Deputy Chief Minister after the 2019 elections.

He aimed to win from Madugula for a third consecutive term in the 2024 elections and achieve a hat-trick as an MLA. However, the YSRCP leadership made him contest as an MP from Anakapalle instead.

Despite his reluctance, Mutyala Naidu contested the election based on the party's instructions but was defeated in the TDP alliance wave.

Since his defeat, there has been speculation that he is showing little interest in politics.

The YSRCP high command appointed him as the Anakapalle district YSRCP president. However, despite holding this position, he has not been very active, and there has been little movement in the party's activities under his leadership.

Jagan gave him the Deputy Chief Minister post due to his loyalty to the party. However, it is rumored that Mutyala Naidu is feeling politically disillusioned after his defeat.

His coterie denies these claims, stating that he will come out from hibernation and re-engage in politics after giving the coalition government some time.

Regardless, it is believed that Budi harbors some underlying dissatisfaction.
