AP: Corporations For Kamma, Reddy and Raju Castes

The Andhra Pradesh government had taken yet another innovative decision on Friday.

The government had created finance corporations for the three ruling and influential casts – Kamma, Reddy and Kshatriya.

The state government had issued GOs creating new finance corporations to take care of the welfare of the poor in these castes.

Perhaps this is the first time and AP is the first state to have finance corporations to take care of the dominant and ruling castes.

There are more than 50 such finance corporations for the Backward Classes in the state, which have nominated boards, each of them having at least 12 members.

There also close to a dozen finance corporations for the SCs and the STs, besides the Minorities, in the state.

Most of these corporations were created by the YSR Congress government headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy.

These corporations get the government fund based on the category which reflects their population in the state.

The corporations which have 10 lakh and above population would get A category, followed by B category for corporations with one lakh to 10 lakh population and C category for the rest.

Under these conditions, the three corporations are likely to be recognised under C category, for funds and other benefits.

The state government said that some of the families in these castes are financially backward and require some support, which the corporations would provide.

The big question now is will these corporations help Jagan to retain power in the 2024 elections?
