The Andhra Pradesh government had changed its vaccine policy and had stopped the present vaccination programme for two days.
The government is now allowing people to visit the nearest vaccination centre, register their names and take vaccine.
This had led to heavy rush of the people at the vaccination centre, which had become tough task for the staff to manage people.
Keeping the increasing number of people visiting the vaccination centres, the government had evolved a new scheme to avoid rush.
According to the sources, the government had stopped the vaccination on Monday and Tuesday across the state.
The government is planning to distribute slips to the people at their door step, on the lines of voter slips.
With the data available on the names of the people who have taken first dose of vaccine, the government plans to send slips to them at their door step through the volunteers and other staff.
Once the second dose is given to them, the government plans to go for the first dose for the rest of the people, giving them slips at their door steps.
The government wants to use the existing volunteers’ system to identify the people to get vaccination and give them slips, which include details of the date of vaccination and the centre.
