Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday hinted that he does not have any objection if the Telangana Rashtra Samithi or YSR Congress party joined the Congress-led coalition in the post-results scenario.
Naidu was speaking to reporters after submitting a memorandum to Election Commission of India over the controversy on conducting re-polling in five polling stations in Chandragiri assembly constituency in Chittoor district.
When a reporter asked whether the TRS and YSR Congress party would also be invited to join the Congress-led coalition, Naidu said anybody who was against the Bharatiya Janata Party and Narendra Modi was welcome to join the mahaghatbandhan.
“I don’t want to take names of the parties and answer hypothetical questions. Any party which is against the BJP can join the grand alliance. We shall speak to all such parties,” the TDP chief said.
There have been reports that the Congress leaders have been in touch with the YSRC and TRS leaders to seek their support in forming the next government, but both the parties have kept their options open for now.
Though Naidu did not raise objection to the TRS and YSRC entering the coalition, it is unlikely that he will continue in it.
