Another YSRC MLA threatens to file case against cops

Of late, there have been reports in the media about how the ruling YSR Congress party leaders, including ministers and MLAs, threatening the police officials who defy their orders.

Very recently, there were reports of minister Seediri Appala Raju using abusive language against a circle inspector in Visakhapatnam and holding him by collar for not allowing him to enter the Sarada Peetham ashram premises.

After it became a big news in the media, the police officers’ association issued a statement asking for an apology from the minister.

On Thursday, it was the turn of former minister and YSR Congress party MLA Kolusu Parthasarathy to use harsh language against the police in Vuyyuru town for arresting YSRC workers following their clash with the TDP workers.

A video of Parthasarathy pulling up the Vuyyuru town police sub-inspector for beating up his party workers as part of law and order control went viral in the social media.

“How can you arrest my followers and how dare you to beat them? Who gave you powers to beat the people in police station? Do you have that authority?” he shouted.

The MLA, who represents Penamaluru constituency, asked his party leaders to file criminal cases against the SI and the ASI for manhandling the YSRC workers.

“The police are behaving like brokers. Don’t meddle with the ruling party,” he said.

He also threatened to instigate his party workers to retaliate against the police.

“If you manhandle my followers, I will provoke them to counter attack you. You cannot do anything, if they beat you in retaliation. We are in power and it is not difficult for us to beat you up,” he said.
