Andhra to Andhra via T'gana: What's this, asks Ganta!

Senior Telugu Desam Party MLA and former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday took a dig at the Chandrababu Naidu government for failing to ensure a direct flight connectivity from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada.

He took to social media platform X to give vent to his frustration over the lack of direct connectivity between Visakhapatnam and Amaravati, calling it a distressing situation. He shared his personal travel experience from earlier today.

He wrote: “I arrived at Visakhapatnam Airport at 8 am this morning. From there, I had to fly to Hyderabad and then catch a connecting flight to Vijayawada. By the time I landed at Gannavaram Airport, it was already 1 pm.”

He pointed out that trade delegates from organizations like CII and FICCI, who were also scheduled to meet chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the evening, had to take the same indirect route through Hyderabad to reach Vijayawada.

“This situation arose because two morning flights between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada were cancelled. Unfortunately, today being Tuesday, even the Vande Bharat train was not operating, leaving us with no choice but to take two separate flights to reach our destination,” he said.

Describing this as an unfortunate state of air travel for passengers from Visakhapatnam, Ganta tagged Naidu, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, and Minister Nara Lokesh in his tweet, urging them to take note of the issue.

He also attached images of the flight tickets he had booked for both legs of his journey to highlight the inconvenience.
