The internal squabbles in the NRI Hospital management came to the fore in the midst of speculation that the hospital is ready for sale.
Management committee member Dr Kondragunta Butchaiah had filed a case against academy vice-president Dr Upendranath Nimmagadda, treasurer, Dr Mani Akkineni, and employees Uppalapu Srinivasa Rao and Vallurupalli Nalini Mohan alleging that they siphoned off huge amounts of society’s funds.
The allegation was that these members have floated NRI Academy of Sciences Private Limited (NRIAS Pvt Ltd) and registered it as company on March 12, 2020.
Dr Mani Akkineni, being treasurer of the NRI Academy of Sciences had started this company to divert the funds of the academy to their company, Dr Butchaiah alleged.
