Andhra Pradesh state high court on Thursday issued a notice to senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy over limestone mining lease in Anantapur district.
The HC was acting on a Public interest litigation (PIL) filed against Trishul cement company seeking CBI investigation into the mining that took place way back in 2011.
Along with JC Diwakar Reddy, Trishul cement partner's Hussain Basha, S Gopala Rao, T Deva Putrudu and J Naga Subbarayudu were allegedly involved in the case.
The bench comprising Justice AV Sesha Sai and Justice Ch Manavendranath Roy heard the PIL, which the AP government had issued GO no 125 permitting Trishul cements for limestone mining in 1605 acres in Konuppalapadu village at Yadiki Mandal of Anantapur district on April 25, 2006.
The PIL was filed by Murali Prasad Reddy of Tadipatri challenging the orders in the high court. He alleged that they got the mining lease by cheating which includes the partners and benames of Trishul cement belong to JC Diwakar Reddy.
The lawyer recalled that the petitioner has no personal benefit, on March 7, 2012, the joint high court had issued a notice to the defendants.
