As expected, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday axed senior party leader and Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramnarayana Reddy for his comments against the party and its leadership.
Jagan issued orders appointing Nedurumalli Ramnarayan Reddy as the in-charge of Venkatagiri assembly constituency, stripping Anam from the post, indicating that the latter would not be given the party ticket in the next elections.
Similarly, former MLA Amanchi Krishnamohan has been appointed as the party in-charge of Parchur assembly constituency in Prakasam district.
According to party sources, Anam might soon be sacked from the party as well, as there are enough indications that he is looking up to the Telugu Desam Party for the next elections. There are indications that he has been in touch with the TDP leadership.
For the last few days, Anam has been making strong comments against the party and the government.
On Tuesday, too, he commented that if Jagan goes in for early elections to the state, the YSRC would definitely lose power.
“It has been nearly four years since YSRC came to power, but it could not complete the buildings even for village secretariats. I don’t know whether it is because of technical reasons or delay in payment of bills to contractors,” he said.
Anam further commented that development had taken a backseat in the state and the party is banking purely on distribution of pensions.
He expressed doubts that he might not get the party ticket again for calling a spade a spade.
