Analysis: Leadership Approach- Jagan Should Learn From Naidu

Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s direct engagement with his party workers as soon as he assumed office as Chief Minister highlights his leadership style, which is deeply rooted in cadre-based politics.

His recent address at the GD Nellore meeting reassured the Telugu Desam Party workers that they remain central to his political strategy. This direct outreach strengthens internal party morale and ensures that the cadre remains active and motivated.

Regardless of how his words are perceived by his party workers in this particular meeting, his commitment to engaging with the grassroots of his party is evident.

On the other hand, YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy’s approach appears to be starkly different. Since losing power nine months ago, Jagan has not actively engaged with his party workers, a move that is raising concerns within YSRCP ranks.

While he had initially promised to spend two days in each parliamentary constituency meeting his party members post-Sankranti, this plan has not materialized.

With major festivals like Sankranti and Shivaratri passing by and Ugadi approaching, his absence from direct interactions has led to discontent within his party.

Jagan’s strategy, as observed, seems more focused on mobilizing protests against government policies rather than reconnecting with his own cadre.

Some YSRCP members question why he is urging leaders to rally against government actions instead of strengthening party cohesion through his direct engagement with party workers.

The contrast between Naidu’s proactive outreach and Jagan’s seeming reluctance to meet his workers is now a point of discussion within political circles.

Ultimately, political success relies not just on public appeal but also on internal party unity. Naidu’s initiative to personally connect with his cadre may provide an advantage, while Jagan’s approach risks alienating his base.
