All Set For Capital Shift To Vizag!

With the employees of Andhra Pradesh secretariat giving their consent, decks have been cleared for the shifting of the executive capital of the state to Visakhapatnam by all means in a maximum of two months.

The Secretariat employees told chief minister and YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to take a decision on the shifting of administrative capital to Visakhapatnam before May, since it would be difficult for them to get admissions for their children in the local schools if the capital shift is delayed.

According to the Secretariat employees, the government has decided to shift the executive capital by May end. The chief minister is learnt to have told them that all their issues would be solved before shifting of Secretariat itself.

Some of the issues that the government has agreed to look into positively include: Allotment of house sites, provision of interest-free loan those who have already taken houses and house sites between 2015 and 2019 and ensuring school admissions to their children in Visakhapatnam.

The employees also demanded transfer of spouses employed in central government, banks and state governments and also inter-state transfers, provision of local status to them, payment of shifting allowance, provision of accommodation for bachelors and families till they construct new houses.

They also wanted special loans to those who have not taken any house/house site in Amaravati, payment of house rent allowance of 30 per cent and provision of transport facility.

The chief minister also agreed to release two dearness allowance dues pending for the last one year and consider creation of additional posts in various departments.
