Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday returned from New Delhi, after meeting Union home minister Amit Shah late on Tuesday night.
Naidu is learnt to have explained to Shah the financial crisis of the state and sought his help in working out a comprehensive financial restructuring package for the state in the ensuing Union budget to be presented on next Monday.
This was Naidu’s second visit to New Delhi in as many weeks and on both the occasions, he went alone, without taking his deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan along with him. This led to a lot of rumours that Naidu is sidelining Pawan Kalyan.
Now, it is Jana Sena Party president’s turn to go to New Delhi alone.
According to the official sources, Pawan Kalyan is leaving for New Delhi on July 19, two days after Naidu’s return, to take part in the review meeting on Jal Jeevan Mission, to be chaired by Union minister C R Patil.
The centre has extended invitation to Pawan Kalyan in the capacity of state panchayat raj and rural development minister to the meeting, which will discuss the implementation of drinking water supply to every household.
This is for the first time that Pawan Kalyan will be going to New Delhi in the capacity of the deputy chief minister.
Sources said he will make use of this opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and others as well, to apprise them of the work being done by him in the state.
“This might appear to be a parallel visit of Pawan Kalyan to Delhi, but it is part of the job. There is no other agenda behind his visit,” sources said.
