It has been nearly two years since the entire country witnessed a high drama in the Telugu Desam Party, with party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu burst into tears in the state assembly and later broke down before the media, alleging that he was humiliated by the YSR Congress party MLAs in the state assembly.
Two years down the line, it is now the turn of Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh, who broke down on the party platform, alleging harassment of his old father by the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government and targeting even his mother Nara Bhuvaneshwari.
After a long gap of several months, the TDP’s state executive committee meeting was held at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri in Guntur district.
For the first time, the meeting was held in the absence of its party president Chandrababu Naidu, who has been in Rajahmundry central jail in connection with the multi-crore skill development case.
The meeting was chaired by Lokesh, who went emotional and burst into tears while addressing the party workers.
“My father has not done any mistake and he has been fighting for the people. Yet, he is being harassed by the Jagan government by foisting false cases,” he alleged.
Lokesh said the Crime Investigation Department had threatened to file a criminal case even against his mother Bhuvaneshwari by showing her Income Tax returns.
“Has my mother ever come out in public anytime? She doesn’t know politics, except doing service-oriented programmes. She didn’t even go Raj Bhavan,” he pointed out.
Lokesh said he was shocked to listen to the allegations made by some YSRCP leaders including ministers stating that his mother and his wife Brahmani had gone to jail to kill Chandrababu Naidu by providing him with poisoned food.
“Such cruel thoughts will come to only YSRCP leaders, because they are aware how Jagan had masterminded killing of his own uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy. Such criminal thoughts are part of Jagan’s DNA,” he alleged.
