A case registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of the Andhra Pradesh police against YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Vidadala Rajini has sparked a war of words between her and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP from Narasaraopet, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu.
The ACB has accused Rajini of extorting ₹2.20 crore from a stone crusher company in Palnadu district under the guise of conducting vigilance inspections.
The case, filed under corruption and criminal conspiracy charges, names Rajini as the prime accused along with three others.
In response, Rajini claimed the allegations were false and politically motivated.
She accused Krishna Devarayalu — who was with the YSRCP until the last general elections — of orchestrating the case to harass her and her family.
She further alleged that TDP leaders were behind the case and insisted she had done nothing wrong.
According to her, Krishna Devarayalu had held a long-standing grudge against her, even when he was part of the YSRCP, and had unlawfully accessed her call data.
Rajini also claimed that the MP was targeting her to acquire government land for his educational institutions.
Krishna Devarayalu, however, strongly refuted her allegations. He denied ever accessing her call data or seeking government land in Andhra Pradesh.
He clarified that his Vignan educational institutions have been operating for over 40 years and have never applied for land in Amaravati, unlike several others.
He added that in 2009, during the Congress-led government's land auctions, he had legally purchased land by offering the highest bid.
The MP criticized Rajini for making baseless accusations without verifying facts.
He further alleged that she used her political influence to intimidate IPS officer P Joshua, who later reported irregularities to the mining department, resulting in significant fines for several stone crusher firms.
He claimed that Rajini had extorted money from multiple individuals and failed to return it.
