It looks like Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is seeking to take revenge against Sakshi media house, owned by YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, through pro-TDP channel ABN-Andhra Jyothy headed by Vemuri Radhakrishna.
According to reports, ABN-Andhra Jyothy lodged a complaint with the Union ministry of information and broadcasting stating that Sakshi had been resorting to cybercrime, diverting the readers’ traffic from ABN-Andhra Jyothy website, which has better viewership and readership.
“Certain cybercriminals have been diverting the traffic from ABN-Andhra Jyothy website to Sakshi website. Any click on the ABN-AJ website is leading to opening of Sakshi website.
“This is causing a loss of revenue to the extent of Rs 40 lakh per month,” it complained.
The ABN-AJ also brought to the notice of the Union ministry that in the past, too, the central intelligence reports revealed how Sakshi was violating the norms of the News Broadcasting Standards Authority.
“On January 20, 2022, the Centre had refused to give security clearance to the channel,” it reminded.
Simultaneously, the ABN-AJ lodged a police complaint in Vijayawada against the alleged cyberfraud of Sakshi.
It also alleged that Sakshi had hacked the satellite frequency of ABN-AJ outdoor broadcasting vans and a complaint to this effect was also made with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Sources said ABN-AJ has made these complaints with the support of the ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh. Maybe, Naidu will use his clout with the Centre and see that stringent action is taken against Sakshi.
