The AP police have booked cases against 52 hospitals in Guntur district for violation of Covid 19 guidelines.
The officials found that these private hospitals were not following the guidelines given by the state government in treating the Covid 19 patients.
The hospitals were indulging several irregularities including collection of higher fee amount from the patients for treatment.
The officials conducted surprise raids on the hospitals and found the irregularities.
The district administration charged Rs 1.25 crore penal amount from these hospitals for violations.
According to district collector Vivek Yadav, they have penalised 25 hospitals at Rs 2 lakh each, 12 hospitals at Rs 5 lakh each and 15 hospitals at Rs 1 lakh each.
The district Collector warned the private hospitals of severe action if they indulged in irregularities and collected higher fee from the patients for Covid 19 treatment.
