Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has chalked out an ambitious vision document for Swarnandhra-2047, has come out with an innovative idea to bring new look to his administration.
According to sources in his government, the chief minister is reportedly preparing to launch a key initiative in the name of “Chief Minister Fellows,” which is a team of bright and talented young intellectuals to assist his government in various aspects.
Sources said this team will function as an extension of the Chief Minister's Office. It is said that talented youth from prestigious institutions across the country will be selected for this programme.
Around 25 bright young individuals will be recruited into the Chief Minister Fellows team, and they will be offered good salaries.
After specialized training in various aspects, they will be assigned responsibilities at the district level.
If all goes as planned, the Chief Minister Fellows program will be operational from April.
The primary aim of the Chief Minister Fellows program is to address welfare schemes, their implementation gaps, governance challenges, and solutions while gathering feedback directly from the grassroots.
The team members will study these aspects and report real-time updates directly to the chief minister.
With their advanced education, they are also expected to suggest solutions to governance issues and assist in decision-making.
This team, according to sources, is based on a similar initiative introduced by the Gujarat government.
“This will not be a parallel administration, but will only supplement the efforts of the district administration by coming out with new ideas and giving feedback from the grassroots level,” sources added.
