2 IAS officers return cars seized from smugglers!

When the YSR Congress Party was in power, several IAS officers wielded unchecked authority, with no one questioning their actions. However, such officers are now being held accountable for their misconduct.

Take the case of two senior IAS officers who misused their power by taking possession of luxury cars seized from red sanders smugglers and using them for personal purposes. These officers, entrusted with upholding the highest standards of responsibility, exploited their positions for self-serving ends.

One officer reportedly sent a seized BMW car to Hyderabad for his wife’s use, who is said to have driven the luxury vehicle for an extended period. Another seized car was allegedly used by a senior official in the forest department.

After the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government assumed power in June, the matter came to the attention of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He ordered a report from the forest department on the misuse of seized vehicles by these officers.

Following widespread media coverage of the incident, the IAS officers quickly returned the smuggled luxury cars to the forest department. The two BMW vehicles are now back in official custody.

Despite the controversy, no action has been taken against the officers. One of them, whose wife had used the seized BMW, now holds a top position in the state administration, which has raised concerns about accountability and favoritism.

Further allegations have surfaced, accusing one of the officers, previously associated with the forest department and now in a crucial administrative role, of employing domestic help from the department and having their salaries paid by the government.

The government appears to have quietly decided to overlook the matter due to the high-ranking status of the individuals involved.

With the seized cars returned to the forest department, it seems the case has been effectively closed, leaving many questioning the commitment to transparency and justice in the administration.
