Industrialist, Koganti Satyanarayana alias Koganti Satyam, is facing 12 criminal cases in Vijayawada and the latest is the murder of real estate trader Karanam Rahul.
Rahul was found dead in a car in the cities Tikkle Road on August 19 and the police started investigation following a complaint by Rahul’s father.
Satyam, who started criminal activities in 1990s in Vijayawada, when the actual criminal gangs of the city started fading away.
He is accused in several cases of extortion, kidnap and forceful confinement of the people over the years.
The latest is the murder of realtor Rahul, who was forced to sign on some papers at Durgakalamandir Theater in Gandhinagar, which belonged to Satyam.
The police have already arrested Satyam and other accused in the case. He was arrested by the police with the help of Karnataka police, as he was trying to escape.
Koganti Satyam is the only living person in the city involved in several criminal activities, including land and finance deals.
The settlements made by him runs into several crores and one wonders why the police have not taken serious action against him, despite his criminal background.
Interestingly, Koganti Satyam has strong links with all political parties, including the Left and the Right wing parties.
