The Tamil hit ‘Vettai’ has now arrived in a remake mode and it is a crucial one for Naga Chaitanya as he needs a desperate hit. Let us see how successful he is this time.
Story
Sivaramakrishna (Sunil) and Karthik (Chaitu) are brothers. But there is a lot of difference in their characters. Karthik is very fast and courageous but Siva is more soft-spoken and chicken hearted. Due to their father’s demise, Siva gets the job and he is posted to the area where Bagga (Ashutosh Rana) a notorious smuggler rules. Siva solves all difficult cases with the help of Karthik and becomes a hero. But Bagga discovers the truth and plans to kill Siva. What does Karthik do to stop this and how Siva changes forms the rest of the story.
Performances
Naga Chaitanya who has been doing lover boy roles came up with an action role and this time he corrected many of his mistakes and performed well. Still, he needs to work on his diction especially in delivering lengthy dialogues.
Sunil did a role of becoming a hero from zero. His performance is impressive. The final moments of the film showed good performer in him. At one point, he has become the hero.
Tamannaah was almost restricted to songs and providing the hot visual feast with her milky skin. She was literally absent during the second half.
Same is the case with Andrea who was more sensuous than sexy. But she tried to make her presence felt wherever possible.
Ashutosh Rana did an excellent job as a villain. He should get more opportunities in Tollywood after watching this performance.
Brahmi’s comedy was stale, it only increased the film’s length. Vennela Kishore was apt, Srinivasa Reddy’s punch lines were good, Raghu Babu, Ramaprabha were good.

Analysis
Tamil director Lingusamy is famous for his commercial flicks. He takes a small plot, laces it with racy screenplay and gripping scene composition, that’s his specialty. Even his dubbed flicks have worked well here.
This one happens to be the remake of his Tamil film ‘Vettai’ and is filled rich with commercial elements. In the original Arya and Madhavan did the brothers role and their onscreen chemistry worked well. While remaking it, the necessary precautions not to miss any elements should be taken here.
That way, the writers of ‘Tadakha’ were successful. Barring slight changes, they stuck to the original script and delivered a fast paced screenplay. That is why without any boring moments the film passes off smoothly. The first half is quite breezy and though the speed comes down a little during the second half the change in Sunil’s character builds up the momentum. Overall, the film manages to keep the audience engaged.
The only place where the film gets affected is during songs and comedy so one can understand how strong the scenes were. Even the action sequences were well composed. Cinematography was rich, editing was crisp but songs and background score were poor. Few dialogues were also strong. If the same focus was shown on songs and comedy the result would have been much better.
To those who want some time pass entertainment this film will work. Apart from those who might complain this is routine, the regular Telugu audience will get entertained for sure.
