Having scored with the film ‘Pilla Zamindar’, this new venture from director Ashok gave some confidence to the viewers. Aadi, who got pass marks with his first two films did a character with negative shades in this. Let us see how this worked.
Story
Sukumar (Aadi) is a person who is least interested in relations. With a plan to grab the multi-crore property of his grandma Vardhanamma (Sarada) he comes to her village. But at every step his plan keeps failing. Ultimately, will he sell the property and leave? Or does he have a change of heart and become a good man? All this forms the rest of the tale.
Performances
Aadi did a role with negative shades but he failed in showing that cunningness. There are many blank expressions in him so he needs to improve on that.
Nisha Agarwal seems to have forgotten what acting means. Though she was good in her earlier films, she gave a dismal act in this one.
The less we speak about Bhavana the better. In fact, she got a role with some scope to perform. Bhavana has the talent of showing anger, happiness, sorrow with a single expression.
Sarada’s mettle as an actress was seen in few scenes but due to overdose of drama in her role she could not entertain. Superstar Krishna did a guest role. Ravu Ramesh was regular. Tanikella was apt. Raghubabu’s comedy didn’t work. Avasarala Srinivas and the others did their bit as required.

Analysis
The way the film begins reminds us of the recent release ‘Greeku Veerudu’. The hero’s style and role fitted the film but the rest of it was sensitive torture. There are few films which torture without story, comedy and this film gives a variety torture in the name of comedy.
Since it is made on rural backdrop, there are too many silly things done citing humour. Within half an hour, one can run a contest on how many artists are part of the film.
There is no control on introduction and everything looks like a desperate attempt to give comedy. At one point, the director was not sure how to take the story forward so he got into various sub plots. None of them justify. Then he dragged the film to complete the duration. By this time, the audiences felt like watching a combination of half dozen utter flop films at one go.
This film proves that without a point if a flick is made even minutes will seem like ages. Even on fast forward mode this doesn’t work. In other aspects, the music is very average with stale songs. Cinematography was decent. Editing was absent. Production values were strong. Since Telugu audience cannot stand this sensitive torture the result can be expected.
Bottomline: He is not ‘Sukumarudu’, he is ‘Karkotakudu’
