Tamil director Sundar C is famous for using old formulae and entertaining audience through commercial formula. This time he has teamed up with Siddharth for the same. Let us see how this is.

Story
From generations together, the family of Kumar (Siddharth) has been doing love marriages. But due to certain experiences in his life Kumar stays away from love and marriage. But love at first sight happens to him when he seen Sanjana (Hansika). However, he doesn't know how to win her heart. So, he takes the help of Love Guru Premji (Brahmanandam). With his advice, Kumar becomes successful in impressing Sanjana but the same Premji becomes a big trouble. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Sidz attempted comedy in his recent flicks but this time comedy surrounds his character. Since it is a tailor made character for him, he did without any hassles.

Hansika is cute as ever. More than performance, she was required to be cute and sexy so she did her job with ease.

Brahmanandam was at his usual best. He brought good laughs in few scenes. But then, if a younger comedian had done that role the impact would have been better.

Ganesh Venkatraman was okay. The rest did their bit as required.

Highlights

  • Entertainment
  • Brahmanandam

Drawbacks

  • Songs
  • Routine Climax

Analysis
The film has been inspired from the Hollywood flick 'Hitch'. Though the story is not new the packaging was entertaining so it was a smooth flow.

Though the opening scenes were not effective it picks up after Brahmanandam arrives. Few comedy scenes such as Samantha's guest appearance, Brad Pitt becoming Brahmanandam were intelligent. The deterrent was the songs which came as a speed breaker and except that minus the first half was smooth.

The second half was routine but one 'twist' raises curiosity. But since the plot is already known the focus is more on entertainment. So, this film works as a time pass treat. The background score and songs are very bad. Cinematography was decent. Editing department worked hard to bring freshness. Direction wise, Sundar C has to upgrade his taste to current generation.

Though the story had good potential to have hilarious comedy sequences, no risks were taken and that is the minus point. Since the Tamil version has Santhanam, the chances of success are high in Kollywood. The weak openings have proved that Sidz is not getting the attention from audience like before. But still, it is a better movie than his earlier venture 'Love Failure'.

Bottomline: There is something!
