Time for one more film to come from the camp of Maruthi and the general anticipation is about the flavor of ‘Boothu’ in the film. Whether it is that tangy or not let us see
Story
Krishna (Prince) is a boy who wants to marry a girl who is a virgin and with no former boyfriends. First he comes across Lalitha (Manasa) and after putting her few through tests he decides she is worth it but one incident at his home change his thoughts and they breakup. Soon, Krishna meets Anuradha (Dimple) and after his series of tests decides she is the one. But Lalitha comes back to reveal about their past. So, Anuradha puts Krishna through few tests to see if his love is true. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Performances
Prince is handsome and got good future but it is better he chooses his scripts carefully going forward. His performance was suiting his character so he was fine.
Dimple Chopade has got a very native sex appeal and more than her performance her desirability quotient is high. She did her bit as required and contributed aptly.
Manasa did not score in terms of looks or glamour but she was decent in her expressions and body language.
Sai managed to bring few smiles, the actor who did the role of Manasa’s brother was good. Venu was brief. Others didn’t have much to offer.

Analysis
Director Maruthi who has created a ‘Boothu’ brand for himself came up with his fourth project.
The first two ‘Ee Rojullo’ and ‘Bus Stop’ were directed by him while his third ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ had only his directorial supervision. This is his fourth. Among them all, ‘PKC’ came out safely without any hardcore adult flavor. But the reason the films worked were they had a plot, a subject that appeals the youth and some emotional fervor with a message topped with adult comedy.
Here, none of that is seen and the only focus was on churning out some cheap third rate dialogues and the only bottomline is lust and sex. They have colored it using the name of romance.
Yes, cinema is all about business and making money but let us not forget this is a medium which affects the audience and society. And if it is a youth oriented theme then the impact is more.
So, it is rather shameful and disgusting to see how such people come up with such subjects and have the cheek to make it as a film. In the process of boy testing about girl’s virginity and girl testing about boy’s ‘control’ factor, it is the audience who are tested big time in terms of their patience and decency.
The first half had few light moments and story had some pace but the second half was pretty bad and the episode of hero staying in girl’s hostel was nerve wracking. Girls living in hostels cannot be portrayed like this.
Anyways, the film doesn’t really carry that kind of material the way hype got created but by no means has Maruthi budged from his ‘Boothu’ mark. This time, the team seems to have believed that any crap they give in the form of perverted comedy will give the film a hit. Maybe this time the strategy may not work.
