Viraj Ashwin, who starred in the recent super hit film "Baby," has now presented another romantic drama.
Let's analyze.
Story:
Santosh (Viraj), hailing from a middle-class background, invests a significant amount with the hope of securing employment in a major software company through a consulting agency. Unfortunately, the agency deceives him. With the assistance of a friend, he eventually secures a position at a small company in Hyderabad. However, repaying the borrowed money becomes challenging due to his modest salary.
To secure a salary increase, he recognizes the potential to impress his boss, Anand (Madhunandan). Since Anand is unmarried, Santosh offers advice on strategies to charm women and provides him with the names of female employees in the office who may be suitable for his romantic pursuits.
In a surprising turn of events, Anand develops feelings for Nithya (Poojitha Ponna), who happens to be Santosh's girlfriend, further complicating matters for Santosh.
Artistes’ Performances:
Viraj Ashwin's handsome appearance aids him in fitting the role, but there is still room for improvement in his acting. Pujita Ponnada's performance as the main heroine is satisfactory.
Madhunandan effectively portrays the typical boss character, adding humor to the narrative. Sai Kumar and Rohini, playing the parents of Viraj, deliver acceptable performances. Siri Hanmanthu has a small but notable role.
Technical Excellence:
The film's soundtrack is a better component of its technical aspects. Praneeth Muzic has given two melodious songs - "Yuvarani" and "Alavatu Poraptu". The cinematography is satisfactory. The film's editing is subpar. Dialogues are rather ordinary.
Highlights:
Some comedy scenes
Two songs
Drawback:
Routine story
Boring narration
Predictability
Analysis
The concept of "Jorugaa Hushaargaa" appears to be derived from typical Korean dramas that have gained popularity in India, presenting an exceedingly mundane romantic narrative.
Director Anu Prasad has crafted a story lacking in depth and following a predictable formula. Additionally, Prasad faced difficulties in effectively conveying the story to the audience. The initial half of the film is tediously uninteresting, to put it mildly.
The film wastes a lot of time before reaching the main aspect where the hero's boss develops romantic feelings for the hero's girlfriend.
The extensive portrayal of the protagonist's middle-class upbringing, his father's attitude, his initial challenges at the workplace, and the office humor is monotonous.
The film becomes somewhat interesting when the hero’s boss develops romantic feelings for the hero’s girlfriend. Since the hero conceals his love affair, the drama ensues. The hero's efforts to redirect his boss's attention, along with a few other incidents, add a touch of humor. Aside from that, the entire drama adheres to a formula and exudes a strong sense of predictability.
For romantic dramas to be successful, it is essential to have a strong chemistry between the lead pair, terrific songs, and captivating storytelling. "Jorugaa Husharugaa" is devoid of all of them. While the two songs may be appealing, they do not suffice. The depictions of village life and the emotional moments involving the father have also proven to be ineffective.
The film follows a predictable narrative structure, starting and concluding in a similar manner. Intermittently, there are extended periods of monotonous sequences.
Overall, "Jorugaa Husharugaa" is a romantic drama that lacks engagement. The film's inconsistent narration and formulaic romantic scenes contribute to its abundance of dull moments. The sporadic humor holds little significance.
Bottom line: Routine Romance
