Story:
Satya Murthy (Abbas) is a Crime Reporter in a News Paper. He is corrupted and desires to earn as much as possible from back doors. His colleague Neeladri (Sunil) is also corrupted. Their wives also wish their husbands to earn big through corruption and robbery if possible.
Both Satya Murthy and Neeladri go to cover news on a train accident. They happen to be first from media to go there. They notice a few thieves pilfering the cash and jewelry from killed passengers. Both Murthy and Neeladri also consider that an opportunity to become rich and rob as much as possible. In the process Satya Murthy lifts a suitcase that comprises diamonds worth Rs 500 Cr.
Rest of the story is about that suitcase and diamonds. Who takes that treasure? Will that be police? Or the politicians? Or other officers? Or the wife of Satya Murthy (Tabu) or anyone else? That becomes the main plot of the story.
Performances:
The aspect to underline in this film is that there is no positive role in it. All are villains.
Tabu is the center of attraction for entire film. She has big role to perform and also exposed enough in the sensuous way possible. Her glamour show is not at all required for the film but simply added as a spice for audiences. Abbas did well in his role and Sunil also performed well with his trademark humor. Hema also grooved well in her shoes.
There is nothing big to say about anything about this film. Music is also inferior. The title song is a bit catchy but sounds 50 years old.
Chandra Siddhartha made a film out of an outdated and obsolete concept.
Analysis:
First, no one understands why the film is given A-certificate. And the implementation is also very harsh. No person below 18 years is allowed inside many theatres. It is obvious that many expect something obscene or sheer violence in the film. But there is nothing of that sort.
The film resembles Malamal Weekly, Hera Pheri and Donga Donga in content. And Chandra Siddhartha dealt it in his style. The only factor that he added to this subject is Tabu's glamour which is almost unnecessary for the narration. Only Tabu's posters pulled a few crowds to the theater.
It is the film in the combination of Tabu and Abbas after a long time after 'Premadesam'.
Chandra Siddhartha appears to have taken inspiration from some old Hindi movies like Utsav while depicting Tabu and Hema in sensuous postures wearing jewelry. That's too dramatic for the contemporary audiences. The film goes very slow through out. Although the initial scenes appear to have been generating interest, eventually the film turns slow and bore. Kota Sreenivasa Rao played the role of Prime Minister. But he was depicted in very dramatic way although humorous.
First half of the film runs actively and there is a small interest booster at the interval. But the second half is too dull and inactive. The climax is also predictable but very abrupt.
The film has no charm to make merry at the box office. Only the class audience may look at this film a bit, but the concept and narration sounds very old.
